Pour the Cointreau, tequila, simple syrup, and hot espresso into a cocktail shaker. Fill it with some ice cubes, then close, seal, and shake until it’s very cold (at least 20 seconds). Place a strainer on top of the shaker and then pour the contents through a sieve (optional) directly into two glasses. Top it off with some shaved chocolate and orange zest as desired.
