Cardamom latte is a delicious coffee beverage that incorporates the warm and aromatic flavors of cardamom spice. It is typically made by adding ground cardamom or cardamom syrup to a traditional latte, which consists of espresso, honey, and steamed milk. The cardamom adds a unique and slightly sweet, spicy, and floral flavor profile to the latte, creating a delightful and fragrant drink. Cardamom latte is popular in many Middle Eastern and South Asian countries and is enjoyed as a comforting and flavorful alternative to a regular latte.
To make a delicious cardamom latte at home, start by brewing a shot of espresso or a strong cup of coffee, then heat up one cup of milk of your choice In a small saucepan until hot, but not boiling. While heating up the milk, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of ground cardamom or cardamom syrup per your taste preference. Stir the mixture well to incorporate the cardamom flavor in the milk. If desired, you can also add some honey at this time. Once the milk is hot and infused with cardamom, froth it using a milk frother or whisk it vigorously. Pour the frothy, cardamom-infused milk into your espresso or coffee. Optionally, you can top it off with some whipped cream and sprinkle a pinch of ground cardamom powder for added aroma and presentation. Give it a gentle stir, and your homemade cardamom latte is ready to be enjoyed.
