What is Arabica Coffee?

Arabica coffee has slightly less caffeine than robusta coffee. Arabica beans are full of flavor and have a strong aroma. These beans are among the most popular types of coffee and are considered to be of higher quality. Over 60% of coffee beans in our world are of the Arabica variety.

Where Does Arabica Coffee Grow?

Arabica coffee is grown in many countries around the world, though the plant originated from Ethiopia. This type of coffee is best grown in the highlands, where it is generally cooler and milder. Colombia, Ethiopia, and Jamaica are all excellent places to grow Arabica coffee because of their temperate climates and high elevations.

Legends of Arabica Coffee

The story is about a goat herder named Kaldi, who first discovered coffee when he became energized by eating cherries from an Arabica tree.
It is said that Kaldi shared his discovery of the Arabica coffee bean with the Abbot of a local monastery. To prove that Kaldi's theory was correct, they made a drink out of the cherries. The result was that both Kaldi and the Abbot were more energetic and did not want to sleep. Word of the beverage spread quickly, and coffee flourished in the Arabian Peninsula.

Benefits of Arabica Coffee

Arabica coffee is rich in antioxidants like Vitamin E, which can help reduce the risks of infections and diseases. It also contains Vitamin B, magnesium and potassium. Research suggests that drinking three cups of coffee per day might increase your lifespan because it lowers the risk of death from several fatal conditions including heart disease.
