Coffee Sangria is a refreshing twist on the traditional Spanish sangria, blending the rich, bold flavors of coffee with the fruity, vibrant notes of classic sangria. Typically served cold, this unique beverage combines cold brew coffee or espresso with red wine, fresh fruits like oranges and berries, a touch of citrus juice, and the optional sweeteners or liqueurs. The result is a surprisingly smooth, slightly tangy drink that’s perfect for warm afternoons or as a creative coffee cocktail at gatherings.
To make Coffee Sangria, start by brewing a double-shot espresso (or some cold brew coffee) and let it chill. In a pitcher, combine the coffee with 1 bottle of red wine (like a fruity Merlot or Garnacha), slices of orange, lemon, and berries, and a splash of orange liqueur or brandy if desired. Add some honey or sugar syrup to balance the flavors, and then let it sit in the fridge for a few hours to allow the ingredients to meld.
