To make a Spiced Pear Latte, start by brewing a shot of espresso. In a small saucepan, combine the pear puree with a pinch of ground cinnamon, ginger, and a little honey. While this is heating, froth the milk with Melitta’s Montalatte milk frother, then combine the pear-spice mixture with the brewed coffee. Pour the frothed milk into the coffee-pear blend, stirring to combine. For an extra touch, top with whipped cream and garnish with a light sprinkle of cinnamon or a thin slice of fresh pear. 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup brewed coffee)
1/2 cup of pear juice or pear puree (you can blend fresh pears if making your own puree)
1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp of ground ginger
1 tbsp of honey (optional, for sweetness)
1/2 cup of milk (or milk of choice)
Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
A pinch of ground cinnamon (for garnish)
A slice of fresh pear (for garnish, optional)
Brew a shot of espresso.
Combine 1/2 cup of pear puree, 1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp pf ground ginger in a small saucepan. Heat it gently over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add 1 tbsp of honey if you like it sweeter, and stir until the mixture is heated through and the spices are well incorporated.
While the pear mixture is warming, froth ½ cup of milk (you can use Melitta’s Montalatte milk frother, or heat it gently in a saucepan and whisk to froth).
Pour the hot pear mixture into your brewed coffee, then pour the frothed milk on top. Stir gently to combine.
Top with whipped cream for extra richness and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. You can also garnish with a thin slice of pear for a cute fall touch.
